Do we know if there is still a problem with year 2 being unplayable?

If so, are there any known emulator settings, GameShark codes, or romhacks that could address this?

I have just crossed into year 2 and played the first day and it seems to work fine. If anyone else wants to officially verify, I can provide a save file from right before the transition to year 2.
