GC Fire Emblem Path of Radiance - need help with svn r4525

i'm currently using dolphin svn r4525 to run fire emblem path of radiance (ntsc version) and ive encountered some problems. when i load my saved game, most of the time, the fps will drop to zero and i'll be left with a black screen. however, sometimes it will work (i dont know why), but when it does, the combat graphics are all screwed up. i dont know why this is happening. here are my specs, but again, my comp was able to run it before with no problems.

Operating system: Microsoft Windows Vista Business Edition 32-bit
Processor: Intel® Core™ 2 Duo P8600 (2.40GHz, 3M L2 Cache, 1066MHz FSB)
Graphics Card: NVIDIA Quadro FX 770M, 512MB

I'd like to add that I have this same exact problem (well, the black screen half anyway... I have no graphics problems if I manage by some chance to get past it). Of course it's a relatively known problem, but I figured I'd add my information to this particular (slightly old) thread, since my issue is the same. Normally, people say doing things like disabling dual-core helps get past the issue. For me, switching to/from the IL build, or using a slightly different revision, helped me get past this random issue that started happening to me quite a few chapters ago.

But now I've reached Chapter 19, and I decided to save on the map preparation screen (labeled "Adv" on the save) instead of saving in the base. No amount of toggling options helps. That includes all the general, advanced, graphics, and sound settings I could find to change. Tried over a dozen revisions from r1713 to r4823, and none of them can get past the issue with default or toggled options. I of course also tried all the plugins available (D3D9 and OGL (and SW on the newest builds)). The vast majority of the time, I end up with just the black screen and 0 FPS. But on a couple of the newer builds (usually the non-IL builds), I see my formation on the field but no menu pops up to actually do anything. The game sits there, apparently running (as I see the FPS actually going, 40-45 usually), but nothing actually happens to *play*. Basically, I'm completely stuck, as I can't even get far enough to do a save state (so I can at least be past the loading itself).

I'd like to note, I'm running Windows 7 (32-bit) with an ATI Radeon HD 3450 (latest drivers).

Also worth noting... I'm pretty sure this issue can be avoided a large amount of the time by saving in the base instead of on the field. Loading my file after saving on the field seems to be mostly the only time I have issues like this.

I'm not sure if this is related but in my case the game sometimes saves very slowly and after a while the game freezes completely whenever: level up, items option (except Ike) and at some scenes. sometimes its solved by loading some of older saves but this time i'm afraid i'm completely stuck. i'm at ch.23

i'm using r4771 x64, my pc is: win 7 64, 4 gig ram, AMD & nvidia 9500GT

I have the same problem after Chapter 19 (PAL version) using Dolphin r4711-r5115 single core/dual core

Save between chapters work fine.
Base saves get corrupted.
Prebattle save get corrupted.
In battle save get corrupted.

using r4586 single core
Save between chapters work fine.
Base saves work fine.
Prebattle work fine.
In battle save get corrupted.

I have the same problem, you have a corrupt save.
Just load your game go to base/organize and you get a black screen.
You need to load a between chapters save.

I can post my memory card file and how to reproduce the problem.

My game was freezing/black screen at Chapter 13. I disabled dual core, and it seems to be working now. This is with the 2.0 version.

I have the EXACT same problem, using the same Dolphin emu. I had very bad graphic problems using Dolphin.exe, but switched to DolphinIL.exe and it fixed the in-battle graphics glitches. But the issues at base camp remain... Sad I also had in-battle freezes on Chapter 17, Part 1 ONLY. After that, all issues I had were at the base camp.

The issues with glitches still remain with Fire Emblem Path of Radiance (GameCube), using DolphinIL.exe SVN R 4771 are as follows:

1) During base camp, I CANNOT "Trade" items between characters; I cannot do any item changes (except for Ike - if I move the cursor down from Ike, it freezes); Cannot get some support chats; Cannot do some of the "Info"; Ike has to buy all items for other characters and must sell stuff from characters, as I cannot get any of the characters to get anything out of the Storage/Convoy.

2) During chap 17, Part 1, You CANNOT attack anyone during the first Player turn. You have to walk characters up to enemies and let them attack first, it it will glitch. After the first turn, everything seems fine!!

3) I have used some Action Replay codes to try and fix glitches on a 2nd game and have not been able to. The game seems to save fine, but due to the glitches, I am using Save State and it has been a life-safer, as I can load after any errors.

4) After chap 25, it stays very glitch until end of game. Sad On Chap 25, for example, Largo will appear in an "Info" screen. You can talk until the "Hire/Don't Hire" option appears. Select "Hire" and hit "START" to end dialog and Largo will be in and you bypass the upcoming dialog glitch.

5) After Chap 25, very few characters can "level up" in the base camp management screen. You can give them up to 99EXP, but if they hit 100EXP and "level up", it will glitch. Sad It's hit and miss, but some characters will be totally glitchy and won't level and others will!

6) At the Final Chapter, I am now having issues with by-passing the dialogs to get to the Final Battle and this sucks.

My timer in the game saves is at 99:59 (maxed out), so I wonder if this has anything to do with it. Like I said, at Base Camp, I use save states to try and see what I am allowed to do. Oh and because I have to sell items to have Ike order new items for the characters, I ran out of money, so I had to use an Action Replay money cheat (by the way, it's NOT Action Replay causing the issues, they happened before I had to use it) in order to be able to outfit people, since NO one, but Ike has access to the Convoy Storage and Ike CANNOT Trade items he takes from Convoy with other people..... Sad

I am adding my Action Replay codes here if anyone wants them. Very useful, specially due to the Ike-only item glitch!

If anyone has any info on the glitches and any fixes, I would love to hear it! Smile

Running DolphinIL.exe SVN R 4771 (version) / Win XP 32-bit SP2, Intel Quad-Core (Q6600), 3GB Ram, very stable and virus/spyware/etc-FREE.

And I have a NVidia GeForce 9600 GSO. Drivers fully updated, so it's NOT the hardware that is causing the freezes. Sad

I notice an interesting thing when the Emu first loads the game - it shows all my CPU Cores and it said "64-bit supported" on the CPU cores.

Does that mean I should use the Dolphin 64-bit instead of 32-bit???? Undecided

Oh, I also read someone on this Thread that disabled Dual-Core.... It gives me an error message if I do so. *scratches head*

can I use other game hacks to fix this chapter 17 issue? i'm stuck at items screen and I can't manage anything........
Duh.... I thought I can finally find any solution but..... whoa! another bug at chapter 23? .................T__T

how did you guys pass the freezing point
i have freeze at chapter 13 where I cannot attack at all or use item during battle
I need help on this
I also turn off the dual core but its not doing anything
I changed to all the svn you guys mentioned but still freeze at chapter 13 (which I use the save from the one I have been using)
can anyone help me? thanks. this is getting into me
