[GC] Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance

So, a while ago (6 months-ish), I played a few Dolphin Games, including Fire Emblem Path of Radiance. Since then, about 5 months ago-ish, I returned to resume some of my games, and found myself with no save files for some reason, I think I may have deleted and then reinstalled Dolphin or something, I don't know. However, I always save with both the memory card and save states, for redundancy, and then just don't touch the save states unless it's absolutely necessary. However, since I had no memory card files, I loaded up my save states, which worked out fine with most games, I then just saved onto a fresh memory card file. However, with FE: PoR, it will not allow me to save again because "This is not the original memory card. Please insert the memory card that you used when you loaded the game." So obviously I looked into other people who have had the same issue, and found this: (https://forums.dolphin-emu.org/Thread-sa...carda-file) thread, where the conclusion seems to be that if I start a new game, make a new save on the new memory card, (did that), then a find a serial number (for the memory card or the game save, I can't tell) in the "sram.bin" (don't know what that is), then "find the address, and then load up your save state, and hopefully the serial you need will be at the same address." So says RachelB. Could anyone direct me on how to do any of that, or an alternate solution? I would make a normal support forum post, but I can't do that. Thanks in advance, I know this is more of a general issue than a FE: PoR one.

I have almost the same problem except I don't have any save states but i do have the .gci save files. Problem is when i open the game it says "(my .gci file locstion) was not loaded because it has an invalid GCI. File size (0x26040) does not match the size recorded in the header (0x40)." I have about a 3 day span of the game completly working to not being able to use my save and i did not touch my computer during that time. if anybody knows how to get the save file to be recognized or how to change the header file size that would be great.
Sorry I can't be of more help. 08-19-2018, 12:34 AM
Anyone here got the Support modifier codes to work?
I keep getting this error. "This action replay simulator does not support codes that modify Action Replay itself." 04-21-2019, 04:53 AM

How do you use the wide screen patch? Is it a geko code or a patch? If it's a patch, how does the patch screen work? I've never seen it before.

Dolphin 5.0 - 10841
intel i7-7700hq gtx 1060 w/ max-q 16gb ram Windows 10 FIRE EMBLEM GC US (Disc 0, Revision 0) GFEE01 Game keeps crashing, no matter how i tweak the settings. The fps is consistently below 100%, though it usually stays between 70-95%. Frequently stutters, leading to freezes or desync. Using save states prior to crash can help me bypass the moments that stutter, which happens almost every 5 minutes, but saving after it crashes/freezes will only load the crashed version. I tried all 4 backends, meaning opengl, vulkan, and direct11 and direct12, with little to no change, though direct11 and 12 run slightly smoother, opengl and vulkan are stable for a little longer, though only for about a minute or so. in the general graphics configuration, I am using the 'Async (skip drawing)' shader compilation, as the shader compilation seems to affect my crashes the most, and this runs the best. In regards to enhancements, I have found no difference from messing with the internal resolution. The two that I tested was both native, and 4k, as thats my screen resolution. anti-aliasing is off, and anisotropic filtering is 1x. Post processing is off, and the boxes that I have checked are the following: scaled efb copy, widescreen hack, force 24-bit color, disable copy filter, and arbritary minimap detection. Stereoscopic is off. For hacks, I have the following checked: Ignore format changes, store efb copies to texture only, (defer efb copies to ram is checked and grayed out), store xfb copies to texture only, fast depth calc, vertex rebounding, disable bounding box, and save texture cache to state. Additionally, texture cache accuracy is at fast instead of safe. I'm about to change that to safe and test it out, and if it fixes it, i'll update. *Update. It basically did nothing.* In the advanced tab, I only have backend multithreading, and boarderless fullscreen checked. In config, I have dual core enabled, and the current speed is at 100%. I am using the JIT compiler. For audio compiler, I'm using dsp hle emulation, with the audio backend being xAudio2. speaking of which, my audio also tends to produce static when the stuterring starts. I also have cpu clock override at 400%. I have been trying to isolate various things to see what improves or doesn't, and I am practically at wits end. If anybody has any suggestions, I would love it, as I'm close to giving up, as playing the game is truly a hassle. Should I try a different rom? is one of my setting fking me over? ... *Edit* About to try different versions of dolphin... Hope that works 08-23-2019, 03:34 PM
Just a quick conclusion to my previous post. My problem is solved. The issue turned out to be my version of dolphin. Either that, or a setting that is available to it that I am unaware of. I started off with Dolphin 5.0 - 10841, and my issue was that the game would frequently stutter, along with the fps taking massive dumps, and quickly freeze up. This would occur every few minutes, and sometimes every few seconds, with me bypassing it by save stating before it froze. If i saved after it froze, i would only load the frozen version.
After that, I downloaded two versions of Dolphin, to see that would help. The first version i got was the stable dolphin 5.0 version. Already, there was a massive improvement, as while the game would continue to constantly stutter and suffer massive fps drops, it basically stopped freezing altogether. It maybe froze only once, in a span of 2 hours or so, and I could be wrong. It may have just been the fps dropping and staying there for a little longer than normal. The second version i downloaded was the stable version dolphin 4.0.2, which basically fixed all my problems. The fps stopped dropping altogether, even when i tabbed out. I never had stuttering issues, and the game ran really smoothly. For some reason, dolphin 5.0 and above has a lot of problems with this game, at least on my computer... The only thing of note was that dolphin had crashed within the first minute of me using it, but nothing happened again within the next 2-3 hours of me playing, so it seemed like an isolated incident. 07-05-2020, 07:22 PM
Have same problem on the last beta and dev versions. Frequently stutters, leading to freezes or desync.Stable version 5.0 works ok 100% speed no freezes.I tried all 4 backends, meaning opengl, vulkan, and direct11 and direct12.
