You'd still more then likely see a performance increase with a higher clock rate, I mean i have a 3.8 ghz i7 920 and even it sometime falls below 60fps, dolphin is honestly ridiculous cpu intensive for the 2 cores that are used compared to native pc games

thats because it needs ALOT of cleaning up done to the code. I suspect when Dolphin is nearly finished (perfect emulation for all games) it will not use half the resources that it currently does.

When trying to run the game on my system it runs at almost 60 fps during a race apart from menus dropping below 20 fps and some weird graphical glitch that appears under the vehicles on occasion, kind of a brown, blackish square.
During racing it also sometimes locks up, then I have to Ctl Alt Del to get out of it. I'm still not quite sure what the optimum settings for this game should be. 04-10-2011, 01:05 AM

If you got 30-40 FPS you can consider yourself happy

Of course I'm ultimately grateful. The brown blotches under the vehicles is bearable, the slowdown in frame rate is bearable, but not the lock ups. I just this minute had another lock up while playing it. It happens everytime I play it, though not necessarily at the same point in the game. Can anyone help 04-10-2011, 06:55 AM
