So it seems the Wiki is full of crap then.... I just spent most of my afternoon trying to tweak the damn game to no avail. With the kind of hardware I have, it should be running smoothly based on the wiki reports - it doesn't.

It also seems most people are experiencing a similar faith... too bad, it was a fun game Smile

Ok, it seems older versions do run F Zero much much better on my end.

Sound was stuttering like crazy in latest build (dev and off). Build 5xxx so far are working in all graphic types, D9 seems best.

Speed is not 100%, most of the time 70-80 but at least the sound doesnt cut off.. FPS around 45.

There is definitely something in the more recent versions that break this game on my end. Other games seems to all run very well on the latest build except for FZero.

Other interesting point, it seems that boosting up the resolution to 1080p as little to no impact vs crappy 480p which is odd

Are you running in Dual Core mode? Right click the game in the game list and select properties. Dual Core should have either a blue box or a checkmark.

Resolution has nothing to do with it since res is all dependant on GPU.

Dual is checked yes, both in the game property and Dolphin.

Older versions (R5071) works the same in OpenGl and D9 (which I guess is GPU bound too). I'm mirroring the settings from that version which works "ok" with the latest dev build and can't get a comparable result. As anyone played the game on the recent releases ? I've seen a few posts back complaining about audio stutter.

What could be the posssible element I'm missing that would make much older releases better than the latest hmmm... thoughts ?

The newest versions have a more accurate AX-HLE implementation. Though faster than LLE, it relies on a game meeting its expected framerate. I notice that if the FPS in F-Zero-GX is above 50-55+ then the music and sounds are pretty much OK. If you are running at about 45 FPS, you will get audio stuttering.

I also see a better overall FPS and Speed with older versions. If it wouldn't be for the graphic bug crippling dolphin in a few stages that requires Skip EFB to CPU to work which isn't found on the older versions, I could just stick with the old ones. Then again, I am sure I should be getting better performances. THat or my OCed X6 1055t is really lacking but that would be a first!

I guess your CPU is just a bit weak for this game (with recent builds at least). You can get an excellent performance but probably not full-speed (resulting in sound issues as Layer explained perfectly). How high did you overclock your CPU?

Clocked at 3.4 for now, I could definitely push it a bit more but would it really make that much of a difference ?

You'd need to have it to around 4.0GHz to get a better performance. Not sure it's enough for full-speed though
