This isn't a Dolphin question per se, but I figured if anyone knew the answer, this community would...
I recently got a Wii for the first time (woo!). Yes, I'm a late-comer; I've been holding out until I found a good deal at a garage sale or something, but my wife decided to surprise me with one from a Black Friday deal. It was probably the release of Skyward Sword, which of course won't run on GC, that pushed us to finally bite the bullet. Anyway, come to find out, we got a "slim" Wii that doesn't have GC ports and won't run GC discs (immediately ejects them). We didn't even know there was such a thing until we got it, and it's too late to return it. I'm still excited to finally have a Wii, but the legacy gaming is a big part of why I wanted it, so I feel a bit cheated.
Anyway, has anyone figured out a way to hack a GC controller into a slim Wii? I think I read somewhere that they're just USB, so maybe if I rewired it to fit a USB port and plugged it into the back? But then, how to get the software to use it? How to play the game in the first place, since it won't read the discs? I still have my GC, but I'd rather not have to hook up multiple consoles. The Wii is hacked.
