Hello all-
I have an official GC controller connected to my computer through a Gamemon adapter. I recently found new drivers for it, so I decided to use it instead of my Nyko Airflow. Problem is, I can't map my analog sticks on the most recent release (3.0-201 x64). I can map the GC analog sticks in Project 64, and in Dolphin 2.0 using the njoy plugin, but not the default plugin. I can also map the analog sticks for the Nyko Airflow controller, Is there anyone else who has encountered an issue like this? How can I get my sticks to work? I would really like to play GC games with a GC controller, not a PS2-like one.
Here are the steps I took and the details. I'm pretty experienced with troubleshooting, so I'm fairly certain it's the input plugin in the emulator that's not liking something.
-Nyko Airflow (USB) controller works fine
-Tested with 2 Gamecube controllers, both controllers work perfectly on console
--Emulator recognizes the +Y of the left stick on one controller, nothing on other
--All buttons on controllers recognized, issue is limited to analog sticks
-Controllers recognized fine in other emulators (PJ64)
-Controllers recognized with njoy controller plugin in Dolphin 2.0
-PS2 controller running through same adapter recognized in Dolphin 3.0-201
Alright, I managed to fix it by manually editing my /User/Config/GCPadNew.ini file. The values I found are as follows:
Analog L/R: Axis 0 -/+
Analog U/D: Axis 1 -/+
C-Stick L/R: Axis 2 -/+
C-Stick U/D: Axis 3 -/+
Those values test just fine when I go back in to the controller config, but they still can't be input. They work fine in games too. So I think the issue may be limited to recognizing the input when binding the controls.
