GC Controller keeps pressing diagonal down left?

So I downloaded Dolphin 5.0. I followed the instructions on how to set up a GC controller using the adapter and it's been detected by Dolphin. When I load up Melee though, every few seconds the cursor will move diagonally down left and the c-stick will also be moving diagonally down left. The controller works fine with my Wii U so I'm confused on what the problem is.

I have the same problem! I'm disappointed to see no one replied with some insight or a solution...

Have either of you guys found a fix for this? The lack of help from anyone here is seriously infuriating.
