Can anyone explain the Widescreen gecko code?
All of my testing shows no changes when using this (or the one for Baten Kaitos Origins, which also shows no changes for either code when used).
I've tried using this gecko code with aspect ratio set to various settings (auto/force 4:3/force 16:9/analog 16:9), and compared it to not using the code in the same settings. Code made no changes what so ever.
I also tried the "widescreen" hack out in the same settings just for comparison, which the wiki page says to not use as it screws up model coordinates (model positions and effects are shifted which don't match 2D pre-rendered backgrounds). I'm assuming the gecko code should basically be the same as the widescreen hack but with correct model coordinates.

And because the wiki page never mentions how to use the gecko codes at all, I just went by an older thread which says to right-click the game/disc and enter the properties window for said game/disc and hit EDIT CONFIG, which opens GKBEAF.ini.
Inside this, add [gecko] on one line, and $<name goes here> on the next line, then paste the code below that line.

So my GKBEAF.ini looks like this:
Code:
[gecko]
$Widescreen hack
C21535E0 00000004
3DC03FAA 61CEAAAB
91C21000 C1E21000
ED0F0232 ED494024
60000000 00000000
C2153544 00000004
3DC03FAA 61CEAAAB
91C27000 C1E27000
ED2F0272 ED6A4824
60000000 00000000
[Gecko_Enabled]
$Widescreen hack

I don't have a problem playing in 4:3, but I want to make sure I'm not just failing at using this widescreen code with the lack of info about said code in the wiki (or this thread, or anywhere else for that matter).
Tongue

*EDIT*
Yep, I failed. Forgot to Enable Cheats in the general tab of the Dolphin options.
I assumed "Cheats" was only a reference to to Action Replay codes and not Gecko (although I guess both technically do the same thing only in a different way). Since I don't "cheat" in games, this went right over my head despite using this same feature for Xenoblade to make the game "harder" (get less XP from quests to not be overleveled).

I just wanted to inform that the game doesn't flip at startup with VXFB or RealXFB, or lag with dual core enabled during shops and such anymore.
I am updating the wiki to reflect that now.
I don't know which build fixed what, but I know that the bugs are no longer occurring in version 5.0 and beyond, and that is what will be reflected in the wiki.
If someone want to bisect the builds to find the exact one that fixed the issues, then you are free to do so.

Widescreen Hack doesn't work. It create a duplicated image on the both sides. I'd tried all configs and I can't fix it!

There will be black areas when near the edge of a map and transitions are messed up with the Gecko Code on the wiki. I was the one who made the Gecko code for this game currently on the wiki. Enable Cheats in the configuration if they are not enabled.

I'm having an issue with running this game.
Every time i enter a battle, the framerate drops to almost zero during the transfer to the battle screen. And the game itselfis slowed as well, so it takes about 10 seconds to enter the battle.
If i use the wiiu gamecube adapter, the sound is also chopped. If I don't everything is the same except the sound is ok.
I'm using dolphin 5

Does it also slow down when you look at your cards in the inventory? The game needs cpu efb access for some effects, but on the other hand it's a big slowdown. Can you try disabling cpu efb access? You need to check the messages on screen when launching, to see if Dolphin overrides the setting though.

Hi i'm getting massive slowdown when i leave the first building in this, i drop to about 12fps, changing resolution, opengl or dx11, enabling dual core and changing efb don't seem to do anything.

Im using a R9 270x and FX 6300

thanks

"DSP LLE Recompiler" doesn't fix the tubular voices for me. Tried the other audio options and nothing seems to work. Sounds like everyone is speaking in a tunnel. I tried both the dubbed and undubbed, and regular Dolphin and Ishiiruka versions. Game runs great (so far) otherwise. Suggestions welcome. Please and thanks!
