There were some sound volume issues, if I remember properly.

This game is currently hard set to 'EFB to RAM', while the wiki advises EFB to texture.
I'm not sure this is intended? 12-26-2013, 03:11 PM
I was having serious screen tearing issues regardless of vsync with this game.
Just thought I'd let everyone know that checking the "Enable Progressive Scan" largely mitigates that issue for me. 02-10-2014, 10:31 AM
Hello, I was wondering if anyone else gets slowdowns where there is water? As soon as I enter the area to the right of the starting town, I get slowdowns, and I'm pretty sure it is the river there that is causing it. I've tried various settings in OGL, DX9, DX11, using native resolution, and nothing seems to fix it.
This is the only problem so far that I haven't been able to fix. Edit: Seems I figured it out, I can't run it @ 100% around water with only 1 core. 03-07-2014, 03:38 PM
I'm also getting low FPS in some areas in Baten Kaitos: Eternal Wings (20, tops), and it gets markedly worse if you bring up the Blank Magnus sub-menu with the C-stick. Despite the risk of crash, I have dual-core enabled, so I'm wondering if I'm missing something obvious. I'm really baffled by this low performance since this rig has handled every Wii game I've tossed at it like a champ (and Wind Waker on LLE). On the usage monitors while running the 20fps areas, my GPU isn't even breaking a sweat, and the top usage I've seen on any of my CPU cores is 60%. Here's what I've tried so far:
- One of the bad areas was any times cards are displayed in menus, such as "Deck," "Equip," or loot after battle. Something REALLY strange is that if I turn off antialiasing, this goes down into the 2-3 FPS range. Checking "Skip EFB Access" clears this up, but menus get worse as the emulator runs. - Disabled "Synchronize GPU Thread" in game options (I had to do this off the bat to get 30fps anywhere), haven't had a crash yet, knock on wood - I've been running DX11, but I've tried OpenGL, DX9, no improvement - Going down to native resolution and no AA has no effect. I've got these pumped to the max with no change in framerate. - Attempted Dolphin 3.0 and 3.5, no improvement (sound was worse in old versions, so sticking with latest version for the moment) Any suggestions? Edit: Hrm, it didn't post my rig. Win7 x64 AMD FX-6100 @ 4.0 GHz Radeon HD 7870 8 GB RAM 03-07-2014, 06:49 PM
OpenGL will fix this slowdown - the EFB peek cache was developped exactly for that purpose.

OpenGL yields a ~15% increase in FPS in slow scenes. Unfortunately, OpenGL is far worse in card menus.

I noticed something that I was wondering if anyone else has encountered. I have noticed that on mine, the save screen has a black box where the location image is and the shop screen background goes black instead of blurry as seen in the image posted in Issue 5150 using 3.0.
http://code.google.com/p/dolphin-emu/iss...n%20kaitos Mostly just wondering if this is a regression or something on my end. 04-19-2014, 05:42 PM

Efb to ram was reverted from the gameini and it fixes those save screens, i suppose i should change it back but performance with this game will take a further hit probably. |
