[GC] Baten Kaitos: Eternal Wings and the Lost Ocean

With dual-core enabled, it freezes a lot. It's not "rarely" and it doesn't freeze only while displaying photograph magnuses. Using single core seems more stable but it causes slowdown. Does this only occurs for the first game disc? Can I enable dual-core while playing the second disc without too many freezing?

I experienced no freezes or issues of any kind with dual core enabled. I did not sell any magnuses though because it is known to cause issues. I was using 3.5 at the time.

Thanks for the information. It doesn't work for me. I just tried it. Loaded a save data, moved the character around, talked with a NPC, then tried to create a save state. Froze right away. It seems I need to play with only a single core. I'll try to use dual-core again when I begin the second disc. I'm using build 1668.

I never used save states, that may be your problem

I see. That could be the problem. But I like to use save states so I guess I need to live with using only a single core for now. Thanks for the information.

I have found another issue. In the menu screen, even if dual-core disabled if I switch between full screen mode and window mode, sometimes it will crash.

Essentially there is no support for save states (to my knowledge). Load a native save and then see if the issue persists.

To avoid using save-states, there's action replay codes for both regions to "save anywhere" straight from the menu rather than at save points.
Me personally I prefer in-game savestates since they tend to be more stable, so I didn't realize there were problems with states in this game. The Dual Core problems should be way better than with old builds, but if you have problems you could also just use a cheat code for money, and thus not bother with camera/photo selling or selling old magnus. Of course, for purists that want to play by the book I hope any remaining problems will be fixed eventually. Regardless of the technique, you should use the games built in saving feature to avoid issues. Whether it's cheats or savestates, they will never be as reliable as the real thing. If you run into issues while using savestates, especially weird ones that aren't mentioned on the wiki, always use traditional saves to check it before you come here to ask about it, cause dollars to donuts it's the savestates.
