The game worked fine, but suddenly after a few hours of playing, it runs really S....L...O...W. Like in slow motion. Anyone knows what might've happened? I did not change any setting. What should I do to remedy this? Thanks.
EDIT: Also I don't know if this is even a problem, but the game has really muddy, ugly textures. Can it be improved in some way? I used to play this on my PS2 and don't remember it looking so ugly.

Are you sure you aren't overheating? You might wanna check your temp.
Also where in the game does this happen? And what are your exact specs (CPU/GPU)?

I don't know... I have the laptop set to high performance due to some recommendations on this board.
It is Intel i5 (3210M), the GPU is nVidia GeForce GT 630M.
Also, I'm on Windows 8 64-bit - maybe that's a reason for concern?
It's in the first underground dungeons, not very far into the game.
EDIT: By the way, I have had the same experience with slowdown with Resident Evil 4. It ran fine, but after some time playing it started this slow motion behavior. Could not find out what was causing it.

Your laptop is probably overheating. Your processor is throttling to avoid this. That's why you got slowdowns. You should really check your temperature to make sure of that.
Your processor is fine but isn't very powerful. Some demanding parts of the game (dungeons for example) might be slower. However that wouldn't generate such slowdowns

Thanks.
But this probably means the end of Dolphin emulation for me (?) As what else can I do to remove the issue, other than checking the temperature? Not much probably.

Unfortunately it's a common problem when you play on a laptop. What to do? Play games less demanding, make pauses regularly, avoid parallel processus while you're playing...
A laptop is nice to play half an hour from time to time. If you can play on a good desktop do it. It's the best deal for Dolphin Smile

It seems I've been creating stupid threads without double-checking my config.
I must apologize again.
I found out that I actually did change the settings in Dolphin and then forgot about it.
I don't know why, but the "enable dual core" option was unchecked.
Now that I've changed it, everything runs ok. There is actually no sign of slowdown even after prolonged gaming sessions. This emulator kicks ass.

Unchecked or checked? I would've bet on slowdowns with Dual Core on rather than with Dual Core off. But nevermind. If it works for you then it's fine. Enjoy

OK, this seems serious. The game crashes every time (10 out of ten tries) once I enter "Chelimber's Crown" and start battling there. It force closes Dolphin, I have to click Cancel for it to close. Don't know where's the problem, I have 2 cheats enabled but it shouldn't be it I think?
EDIT: Nevermind that, I tried disabling the cheats and the game seems to work ok... so far.
EDIT2: OK it seems it doesn't like the Infinite Magic cheat, whereas Infinite Health is OK. Perhaps someone will find this useful.
