So I've started playing Animal Crossing (GCN version) over via Dolphin and I've had Resetti visit me twice in the first two days I've played thanks to some random crashes that have occurred. I have Panic Handlers on, but nonetheless I have received no error messages outside of the Windows "Dolphin.exe has stopped working" message. I have attached the error message -- with the extended diagnosis -- to this post.
The game crashed pretty soon after I started playing, and both times occurred after I had decided to switch my audio backend to XAudio2 in an attempt to fix the audio delay and the awful crackling that occurs after leaving the game idle for a brief while (or maybe after playing the game for a couple of hours? Not sure what triggers that...). Since then I have switched back to DSound for the time being, and I'm bearing with the awkward audio glitches. My game has not crashed since. Both crashes occurred while my character was not engaged in conversation but while a noisy bug was on the screen -- the first time it was a Mosquito and I was running past the wishing well, and the second time I had just finished a conversation when a grasshopper jumped by. Perhaps there is some sort of correlation between the insect noise and the audio backend crash, be it proximity to the player or the looping sound clip...
At any rate, I didn't see anything about this on the forums yet, and I noticed that this thread had a similar issue with a game crashing when XAudio2 was used. I am using Dolphin v3.0-735. Any help or recognition of the issue would be appreciated!
