"GBA code is too insane for netplay. This won't work."

I get this error "GBA code is too insane for netplay. This won't work." when trying to play with a friend who just got dolphin. The error only happens on my end, and comes up when trying to load the game (SSBM). My netplay does work with other people, but not with this particular person, any suggestions? I don't understand C++, and if someone can let me know why it's happening, that would be awesome!
