Gauntlet Dark Legacy Netplay

A friend and I are trying to play Gauntlet the Dark Legacy via transversal server and we are getting hit hard with desync. We are both using 5.0 and am currently on 7 buffer.

Is there any way to fix this issue? Is there anymore info I should provide?
