So I installed Dolphin 5.0 today and can't seem to get anything to load, I've tried two games so far and they both give me a black window upon pressing play. I've waited around 20 to 30 minutes on the black screen and nothing's happened not even a sound, if any one could help me with this problem it would be a massive help

1- Try with latest dev.
2- Fill your FULL PC specs. We can´t help you properly without knowing them. 3- Once you try with latest dev post here screenshots of all the configs. Rig 1: Windows 10 Home | AMD A6-1450 @ 600/1000/1400 MHz | AMD Radeon HD Graphics 8250 | 4GB RAM | HP Pavilion TouchSmart 11.
Rig 2: Windows 10 Pro | Intel Core i7-2640M @ 780/2800/3500 MHz | Intel HD 3000 Mobile | 8GB RAM | Dell Latitude 6320.

No I've only downloaded 5.0 nothing later than that, I'm not too good with technical stuff but I can usually manage with a decent explaination of things

From what I checked online my computer should be able to handle running it tho, I'll give that a try and see if it works. one thing I remember from running old ps1 emulators is you need bios, video I watched made it seem like bios came pre installed would by any chance that be what I'm missing? 04-10-2018, 07:23 AM

Dolphin doesn't require any BIOS files at all. It runs everything in HLE, there is an LLE mode that needs files from the Wii to work but that's just audio and hasn't really been needed for years. The game should load just with Dolphin as it comes and the game file. Try this program to see what hardware is actually in your laptop: https://www.cpuid.com/softwares/cpu-z.html 04-10-2018, 08:29 AM

Thats it been running for a while now and nothings happened yet, I've screen-capped everything in one just to show whats happening specs are in the top right. I haven't changed any settings on Dolphin just tried to load ISO's, I'm gonna leave it running in the background see if anything changes 04-10-2018, 09:05 AM
First off, the silvermont based CPU (celeron n2840) is now a pretty old, mobile-level part. Even if it worked, it's likely few games would give a good experience.
Normally, I'd recommend getting the latest GPU drivers from intel.com - but I cant find *anything* but the first ever release version that lacks win10 support here: https://ark.intel.com/products/82103 . Crazy. I'd guess you've just bought a lemon if Intel don't want to support it ![]() Also, generally the OpenGL Intel driver for windows is worse than their DX11 one - it was mentioned above but I didn't see that option in your screenshots (the 'graphics' button at the top by 'config' - it's in a different window to the rest of the options). |
