Hello,

I have been trying to get dolphin to run a wii game ISO, and I keep getting these error messages, in this order:

Failed to write BT.DINF to SYSCONF

SetupWiiMemory: Can't create setting.txt file

Then,

Unable to resolve read address 80004000 PC 0

Unable to resolve read address 80004004 PC 0

Unable to resolve read address 80004008 PC 0

And so on.

I've tried these troubleshooting methods:

-Uninstalling Dolphin, deleting any remaining files, and then reinstalling.

-Changing my BitDefender settings to allow Dolphin under the "Safe files" setting.

-Creating a portable.txt file under the same location that dolphin.exe is located.

-Deleting Dolphin.ini (I read that this solves my exact problem; didn't change anything).

I am using the Stable Dolphin 5.0 version.

I just want it to work. It's not working. Any help would be appreciated.

I would recommend upgrading your installation of Dolphin to the latest dev/beta builds, as 5.0 is pretty dated by now. See if that helps your situation

Thank you!

I am usually immediately put away by software labeled as beta or development builds, as that usually means it will not function as smoothly as stable releases. I guess I should have known the stable release, published 4 years ago, would be buggier than a beta release from a month ago.
