Yeah, I'm also getting that issue. For me it even freezes on the menu screen with totally messed up graphics and a one second audio loop.
Anyone know if this game needs any special settings?
Otherwise, after a loooong time, I'll have to add this game to the list.

Have you been to that VHS scene with fast-forward-effect? That's where there's supposed to be an issue (at least with panic handlers enabled):
- No More Heroes (Wii)
(has a cut-scene that features a VHS fast-forward effect that produces a error pop-up message as soon as the effect starts, which tends to crash the program. Turning off "Use Panic Handlers" 'fixes' the problem and the scene plays out normally.)

I don't know, I didn't make that report. But it looks like the fast-forward-effect they were talking about. Did you have panic handlers enabled? If not, could you please check with panic handlers enabled?
