see the different emus.

making a small bit of progress, still trying to get it to run consistently. Still likes spike down in emu speed pretty often even when standing still ingame. This is the pal version too. Side note, even when i have stuff running in the background(firefox,AIM) the emulator performance stays the same whether have nothing running at all or bunch of crap. Makes me wonder if there something else holding back full constant speed if my laptop isnt being strained for power

Your speed sounds completely normal given your hardware and the game you're trying to run. Background tasks typically use an insignificant number of cpu cycles compared to dolphin so it's normal for them to have little to no effect on dolphins performance.

yeah sound issues are due to the game from the wikis so not much i can do about it. Right now im just focused on getting things to run full speed or atleast stop it from skipping around, just ripped metroid other M from the disc to test it out and that runs the worst by far. Its running at 33Fps for a wii game but the emu speed is like 55-58% no other game did that so far. Xenoblade on the other hand is running better but just ran into the game locking up >_<. eh wouldnt be so bad if the wii games on the actual wii didnt look so cruddy on a big screen. endless testing on my day off trying to fix the games.

Btw anyone know why there are 3 options available under properties from the dolphin browser, theres the full blue box, check mark, and blank spot. Im assuming putting the check box there activates the option but then what is the default blue box do? ive been messing with the options but havent noticed any changes.

sigh poor metroid getting the highest fps but the lowest emu speed just wanna bash my head into the wall.

Intel HM55 chipset in your system is supported by Set_FSB. Overclock at your own risk/knowledge.

Increasing the base clock speed in a system with only one PLL which is integrated into the cpu is not a good idea.

i have not the slightest clue about overclocking except that it will screw my whole system up with one wrong number. Been making small bits of progress with the games due to youtube and copying other people settings and version of emus they used. And finally came to terms that im gonna need a different version of dolphin per game. which sucks but the trade off it actually looking better than the actual wii is good. Cant connect the wii to my lagless monitor and the only thing i can play the wii on is the huge screen in the other room which makes the games look horrible.
Only options i really got is this laptop of mines and determined to make it work as i mentioned before that there is another user here with the same processor as i have and get good results. So slowly trying to root out the problem cause the laptop is still cool for the most part( coretemp just out the yellow zone and still green) computer isnt bogging down. I just hope my laptop just isnt faulty, cause it was acting weird when trying to play darksouls(auto caps the fps 15 ingame) but when using a user mod the fps goes up and better performance. so i hope something like that atleast is happening here and im missing an easy fix.

A common misconception by those with no previous experience with it and who are too afraid to gain experience with it. Since you're using a laptop I wouldn't recommend using that particular system as a test bench since even if it wasn't locked down to hell you still wouldn't be able to push it very far due to the cooling limitations. However if you ever find yourself with access to desktop cpu/motherboard that has unlocked overclocking options I would recommend you have a go at it even if it's just for use as a learning experience.

i had an older laptop that had "heating" issues due to pushing it too far. True no experience but wasnt afraid.
Yeah i finally found out one of the issues ive been having with this one currently. Its once my temp reaches a certain number the whole turboboost thing dials itself self down until my temp drops about 10C or so then starts back up again. all them spikes ive been mentioning in previous posts was due to that as i was watching what was happening with coretemp and the intel turbobooster monitor.
Its not as the other poster that was trying to help saying that my processor wasnt good enough, they said xenoblade is one of the more demanding games and i manage to get it to run at 98%-100% before the temperature got in the way.

WOO HUGE break thru, got rid of the hiccips so far in xenoblade chronicles and been running 98% and combat in starter area without it skipping or going below 90%.
Big thing here is TELLING TURBO BOOST TO GO screw it self as it causing the heating issues NOT the emulator. Also the last story sound problem also disappeared after getting the turbo boost to stop. temp is always in the green now and almost 30C from hitting that nasty spot i mentioned prev post. Dont think i need to overclock now. now to test more settings without my fan going nuts.

Have you cleaned it out and replaced the thermal paste yet?
