are you refering to that?

and yeah i wonder if the emus are doing it too, just reverting back to the intel HD option during gameplay which could be slowing it down. i got a dedicated GPU in the laptop shame it never seems to do much in general >_<

also ive been sifting thru the older version here and there in another thread, gotten few of the games running better but the random hiccups in emu speed is annoying. And when it hiccups i noticed the core temp program instantly goes back to green as if i have nothing running at all and then it goes back to where it was when the emu speed goes back to 98%-100%. wonder if theres a way to get it to stay constant or its just the way it is.

Also stumbled onto this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FAdcV3-s_NU from one of the people here admin89 his youtube channel, from the specs he posted on his laptop is almost the same as mines from what i can tell. Im sure his is better but would it really cause that much of a difference if he has bonus settings on(anisotropic and AA) and i dont? wonder if im able to overclock it to were his is at to get the same result if it really is mostly the CPU that runs the emu not the GPU.

Turn off triple buffering and vsync. Those only reduce performance. Threaded optimization won't matter unless you're using OpenGL.

This looks like it is otherwise configured correctly to force maximum performance.

yeah i tried it both on and off, nothing changed performance wise, and did you check out that video? guy is almost running same set up. and one of the main sticky threads here shows that the intel core i5's mobile is rated extremely fast(dolphin CPU hierarchy thread) so im determined to find out what is going on as im not running anything currently at full speed.

slight update i DL the turbo boost monitor and it actually climbs up to 2.93GHz when dolphin is running(same as that video i posted) so i should be able to run things like he does from the cpu standpoint, and drivers updates showed up an hour ago for nvidia so imma dl and try again and see what happens. i gotten xenoblade chronicles to run upto 90% emu speed and about 22fps in the first sequence(pal version so 25 is full speed) sounds are messy(emu said it would) but its almost fully playable as its not crawling in slow motion the whole time just stuttering now. Trying to get it to balance out a bit already ..screwed with about 8 different versions of dolphin and starting to lose track of which version is good for what >_<.

That video is Dolphin 3.0. It was much, much faster than current builds and also loaded with bugs due to inaccurate emulation (especially audio). If you can OC past 2.93 it will help. Exactly what model of laptop do you have? I need to see if your chipset/clock generator support overclocking. Otherwise you're pretty much boned.

I found some bug in save of zelda wind waker with dolphin 3.5 that have been resolved with previous version

Yeah as in my original first post, i was saying which versions i was using during the tests. i tried the latest, version 3.5/ 3.0/
and now the versions of:
r6515(which can almost run xenoblade full speed just the hiccups are annoying)

r6284(getting about 80-98% on wii games in random places)

3.5-145(one mentioned in another thread https://forums.dolphin-emu.org/Thread-wii-xenoblade-chronicles?page=13)

the same version as 3.0 in the video( it can be full speed when standing idle)

im currently looking up this guy posts on his settings and hopefully i can replicate them as he has the same cpu as i do and he doesnt overclock, his gpu is better which allows him to use higher native res but the performance itself should be the same when we are using the same exact processor.
Also forcing AA on 4x and anisotropic filtering x16 actually helped the games run faster by preventing the gpu from going idle randomly(found out from old thread on the trick) so no longer have the games been going under 80% for the most part.

Also the sounds seems more hectic on the newer versions of the emus and the older ones the sound stability sounds better when the emu speed dips down(stuttering isnt as bad) so yeah version 3.0 and the other revisions in the 6000s seem to be doing better overall with less issues than the newer ones.

And what you mean chipset? isnt that the intel core i5 480M @2.67 turbo boosted to 2.97 acer aspire

im thinking about trying to message the admin89 dude for help as he has the same thing(the posted video of xenoblade and post) hard to find out what settings hes using as hes usually helping out others for there styled pcs and not his own laptop settings. Just shows pictures of it running full speed Sad

I missed that you had tested 3.0

You're correct about the forcing AA.

The new emu has more accurate sound emulation, but it is potentially unstable if you can't achieve 100% speed. Older versions are a sensible workaround if your hardware won't perform, but you probably won't get much support on any of those.

Chipset is something on the motherboard. What model is printed on your laptop sticker? Who makes it? That'll tell me what board and chipset are used.

That seems sensible. Again, I think you may not get great response from anyone with an older version though, so keep that in mind.

hope thats the info you are looking for, yeah i may not get response about the older ones, but i did almost have similar results with version 3.5-145 which is fairly recent compare to the older stuff ive been dealing with.
