Hey all, I'm new to the wii community and cannot get any games I've played to run at anything faster than half speed. I've followed the guidelines stickied in this thread and have played around a bit with the settings but no luck.

I'm running an Intel i7 (8 cores at 2.93 GHz) with 8 gigs of ram and an ati radeon 5400 series gfx card. Can someone please help me out?

Games I have tested so far are Mario Kart Wii, Mario Kart Double Dash (Gamecube) Mario Tennis and the new Super Mario Bros for Wii.

Thanks for the help guys!

Post your configurations settings when asking for help! But I suspect it might be your GPU that is causing the low fps.

ahh sorry amigo
I have the following enabled. Enable dual core, idle skipping, Frame Rate at 60fps, skip GC bios, JIT Recompiler, lock threads to cores, DSPLLE on thread,

Display settings at 1920x1080 in fullscreen, confirm on stop,

Dolphin OpenGL plugin: Aspect Auto, Anisotropic filtering at 1x, Anti-Alaising None, Load Native Mipmaps, EFB scaled copy, EFB Scale Integral, Enable CPU access, Copy enable (RAM)

Dolphin DSP-HLE plugin - all setting enables. 48,00 Hz sample rate and Audio Backend Dsound

And by GPU, you mean GFX Card?
Its ATI Radeon HD 5400, has 1 gig of DDR3 memory, core clock 650 MHz, Total Memory Bandwidth is 12.8 Gigs.
I know its not top of the line, but it serves me well for playing blu-rays

Also I should add the music slows down along with the frame rate slowing. Music sometimes becoming choppy

which games?

Harvest Moon needs 25fps
mh3 30fps...

most of the games never need 60fps

go to the audio plugin and disable audio throttle
disable DSPLEE on thread and lock threads to cores
and set frame Rate to auto

and use the directx9 plugin...
its faster
set Copy enable to texture

^All of that plus also turn off efb scaled copy. Your gpu can't handle higher than native internal resolutions.

The above steps helped alot. thanks. I also dropped the display resolution a bit and I think that helped.

as far as the bad gfx card ... the computer is mostly used for music production, i work at a radio station. also I'm a college kid and can't afford a wii let alone a nice gfx card
