Gamecube remote on wii games

I'm sorry if this is was already answered in a post, but I attempted to search for a result on the forums as well as google with no luck.

Title, can somebody explain how to use a gamecube remote setup for wii games that support it?

I have to admit I was a bit confused as well here? Though in justince's define a remote short for " a remote control device" ( in this manor ) is an acceptable name for a game controller. However, its the first I have even heard it called that. OH wait... I think my mom called it that in 1984 ?

Now as to the question, well I'm not really sure I understand that as well. Though, my guess is you want to use a game cube controller as a wii-mote? If so you just set up the wii mote as a "emulated" wii mote. Then map each action how you like. If you search the forms some games show the best set up. There is no one perfect set up as its not really possible to fully emulate it right. You can also do hybrid ( part wii part controller ) or map keys and the mouse if you prefer.

Does dolphin see the controller in the device tab in the emulated wiimote config?
can you map any buttons?
