i have a 3 in 1 MagicJoy Box Which works for GC/PS2/PS/XBOX for 13 bucks (USD)

Checkout my latest project ( it is a program that downloads and compiles dolphin on mac and linux now): http://code.google.com/p/dolphin-emu-downloader (It's unofficial and maintained by me, not the dolphin dev team)

I have an old trio-linker plus II, it's GC/PS2/Dreamcast.
It works reasonably well, but it unfortunately lacks analogue input on the shoulder buttons, so no half-press.
The drivers haven't updated in a while either, and I don't think they are sold any more anyway.
I've been looking to replace it honestly, see if I can't get something more compatible.

Obscured is pretty much right, a PS3 or Xbox 360 controller is going to be the Easiest way to play GC games. I'd Personally recommend getting a wired Xbox 360 controller; It already has native USB support, and Windows 7 comes with built-in drivers for it. If you want to use a PS3 controller, you're going to need to get the drivers online (Google search "MotionIn Joy".) but installing the drivers is a bit complicated as it entails disabling the Windows digital driver signing check. If you're really set on finding a USB adapter then Google is your best friend. There are several different adapters out there, but my favorite is this homemade GC/N64 2-in-1 adapter. This is a great DIY project if you're willing/have the ability to do some soldering. Note that you can order a homemade adapter from the website, but they're $30 (Canadian) apiece and there are definitely cheaper ones out there.

BTW, I'd be interested in hearing which adapter you end up with, if indeed you do go that route.

ehh... the gamecube part is cool. i dunno why someone would wanna use an n64 controller though. the analog would get all worn out and crummy. i like how the nunchuck is shaped kinda like the n64 analog section though. brings back memories... *sighs*

I went with this one. You can get just a single if you want or the full version. He makes custom designs as well. I use it with dolphin and all features/axis work. If you want rumble you need to be a beta tester for version 2.0. Oh and rumble also works with dolphin.
