I have a standard, non-third party wired Gamecube controller that is recognized in GCPad but games do not pick up any input from it once they are launched. I bought a Mayflash 3 in 1 USB adapter to connect my controller to my computer, and like I said GCPad works fine and I am able to configure the buttons, so I don't believe the problem is with the adapter.
I see that this topic has been made a lot, but the standard answer given about making sure Port 1 is set to "Standard Controller" does nothing for me. The linked screenshots are the current relevant settings I have

If it is at all relevant, previously I used an Afterglow Xbox 360 wired controller with no issues, but I prefer the Gamecube's analog sticks in certain games
Whoops, forgot to mention some extra details to avoid this thread getting closed. My system has a GTX 560 Ti 448 cores video card, Intel i5-2500k processor, and 8GB of RAM (Corsair Vengeance). I am using Dolphin build 3.0-508. The games I have tried to play with this controller are Super Smash Bros. Melee and Mario Kart
