Gamecube controller not working

I just bought a gamecube controller and an adapter to play on my PC. I attempted vJoy and Zadig. Niether worked. When I went to the device name, it read Gamecube controller adapter instead of WUP-028 like normal. How do I get this to work with my PC? I want to play Legend of Zelda with an actual controller instead of my keyboard.

here is a link (lol pun) to the adapter.

Sisfung Gamecube Adapter

Did you set the adapter to Wii U mode? If not, it won't say WUP-028 and the Zadig method won't work.

I tried both that and PC. It did not say WUP-028 on the WiiU/Switch side either. It said Gamecube adapter for switch. When my dolphin emulator is not running a game, it says adapter detected, but when I start a game, it says adapter not detected with an occasional flicker of adapter detected

Ah, okay, it's that issue. It's been reported a number of times with third-party adapters but nobody seems to have a solution for it.

Well DAMN. That sucks. time for plan B. *sniffle* buying an offbrand controller with a usb.

Which adapter do you have? The Mayflash adapter works, but I often see posts like this with the Nyko adapter

Honestly get the original Nintendo adapter, or an offbrand USB Gamecube controller.
Huh
