Bug
Ok so I have an unofficial gamecube controller to usb controller for my Mac, so to clear it all up, its NOT a gamecube controller adaptor. I have gone to config and I have changed the settings so that "Slot A" is connected to Memory Card, and "Port 1" is connected to Standard Controller, easy. I then went into the "GCpad" tab and began to bind all the controls to my controller, with of course Pad 1 selected and "Input/0/Generic USB Joystick" ( my controller ) selected in the drop down panel, and everything seem to work fine, side from the fact I could not get L-analog/R-analog to bind to anything and left them blank as there is no more room for them on the controller. I saved the settings and decided to boot up and old favourite "Wind Waker" and as soon as I got to the title screen....nothing my controller would not respond AT ALL! nothing I pressed everything. I tried re-booting it with the keyboard and that worked fine, I even tried ticking Background Input and again nothing......Hell I even downloaded an earlier unsupported version of Dolphin to see if that would make a difference, and again...you guessed it, nothing! I'am literally soooo clueless right now! I have watched at-least 5 videos on yoUtube, searched through heaps on forums and still nothing! The only suspicion I have is that maybe my controller is broken? But then why would it work in the binding screen, and why is it I can still use it to on my GBA emulator. Nothing makes sense.

The first thing to try is to check Background Input in the gcpad configuration.

If that does not work, follow these directions by controlpluszed from the issues log:

Quote:ok, so i think this is the first time i've been able to post a fix i worked out myself! on anything... so proud of myself.

I was having these issues, and through a desperate need to play super mario sunshine i found a fix. (on a macbook at least)

1. Clear all the settings
2. In the gamepad setup, select the device as "Keyboard/0/......"
3. For each key, instead of using the auto detect (which won't work as you have keybpard selected as input) - right click on the button you want to define, choose input/0/USB Joystick (or whatever your gamepad is) as the device in the configure control popup
4. find the value you want to set it to... remember to press select before pressing ok (i forgot this so many times and it drove me crazy)
5. start game and enjoy...

a note - i found it way easier to use the auto-detect, save those settings, then flick between them and the new one i was setting up. It still took a bit of time, but well worth it for that sweet mario goodness Smile
