Gamecube Controller Compatible with Wii Games?

Hey, so I'm playing Super Smash Bros Brawl using my keyboard because I'm having numerous problems with connecting my Wiimote to my computer. It's working fine but I heard about an adapter I can get at any tech store that plugs your Gamecube controller into your PC.

So before I go on a quest to find this magical piece of equipment I was wondering first if the Wii game on Dolphin will actually accept the controls of a Gamecube controller.

Sorry if this is a dumb question, I just wanted to be sure before I bought the adapter.

Depends on the functionality. If you want a popularly used adapter with a few set backs get a may flash. The biggest gripe is the RL triggers ( see page two of controllers ). If you want to pay a bit more for an adapter that supports all aspects including wave birds see my sig.


Also the Wii game looking for a wii mote will not get all of the functionality it needs form a game controller. Some games just dont play will without the wii mote. But you can go in to the fake wii mote mode and user define all the buttons on a controller if you like. Though a GC controller has very few buttons compared to an xbox controller.

So a gamecube controller will work with the Wii game it just depends on the adapter I'm using with the computer?
