there are a few options really and may-flash is not the best but probably the cheapest
1)raphnet. This guy makes these in a mini production environment. http://www.raphnet-tech.com/products/gc_n64_usb_adapters/index.php. Driver less and plays on anything with a usb ( mac, linux, windows, ps3, etc... )
2)Bliss-box. This is my project and athough its aimed at multiple device you can get just a single. Raphael ( raph net ) and I work together. I have a few more features and his cost is a bit lower. http://bliss-box.net/Bliss-Box/new.html. Both raph net and my adapter support driver-less solutions. And most importantly, if the GC does it, we do it.
3) mayflash. Many of them have issues but their latest firmware seems pretty good. You still need drivers though.
4) skillz. Dont have any experience with it. http://www.gamechoice.com.hk/navigateProduct.asp?product_id=3426
5) Wasaki. Dont beleve you will find it and Its not worth it as there are some of the issues mayflash had with this adapter.

Mayflash has came a long way and they have 3 versions ( looks ) . Super Joy Box 13, 3 in one, and a two player, maybe more. Raph net and Bliss-box are going to be the best most accurate options. raph net maybe a bit cheaper but Bliss-box is being an ongoing developed takes feature requests and both are open source.
