I'm using the latest build 4.0-9146 on mac and when I try to use the 1st party gamecube adapter, instead of saying adapter detected or adapter not detected, it says driver not detected. I thought that we didn't need a driver anymore. I tried installing one from the wiki but it did not work.

Drivers are still needed, like always.
If you're using OS X, there's currently a problem with native GameCube adapter support that requires you to use Dolphin 4.0-9115 or older. 03-23-2016, 06:16 AM
AFAIK Mac OS X users needs a .kext to get the WiiU GC Adapter working and there's one available somewhere on our forums...
(too lazy to search for it now)
