Hello all,

I'm a first time poster so I hope this is the right forum. Dolphin runs great on my Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit notebook. I love Super Mario Sunshine and Zelda WW so I want to buy a GameCube Controller Adapter.

Which one are you using? Do you have a recommendation?

I found two on my own:

3 in 1 Magic Joy Box

Super Joy Box 13

However, Super Joy Box 13 seems to be harder to find. Maybe they aren't made anymore??

Anyway, are these good or do you recommend another brand/model?

Thanks!!
-P

I remember looking up the 3 in 1 Magic Joy Box before, quite in-depthly and it seemed like a pretty good adapter.
I'm also interested in how many people here are using real GC controllers on Dolphin too now that you mention it, I was going to, but an xbox adapter was cheaper and more efficient for me since I already had plenty of controllers for it.

NVIDIA GeForce 9600M GT (512 MB)

Thumbs Up
I have also been wanting to be able to connect my Gamecube controllers to my PC for a while. I started to look for the Super Joy Box 13 and found that everywhere I came across was sold out, I had the same feeling as you Pentad, that they weren't made anymore.

I had another thorough look all over the web, this time I came across a place that sells them and have just ordered two them.

Here are the prices of the Super Joy Box 13: £17.99, $27.72, €20.32

I got it from here: http://www.consolesandgadgets.com/catalog/super-joybox-joypads-p-1572.html

You get free delivery if you live in the UK.

You can also get the Driver for Windows Vista/Windows 7 here: http://www.mayflash.com/Download/Setup 13 Vista, windows 7.exe

I hope this has helped. Wink

I use something called the blissbox! I can use Nintendo Controller such as Gamecube/SNES/NES/64. I can also use the Sega and Turbo grafx and Atari controllers... All configurations are available from the manufacturer on a custom order basis or you can get a prefabbed....

Here is the website:

I have the PC035 3 in 1 Magic Joy Box, along with the Vista/7 driver from Mayflash that was released in November 2007.

the drivers are signed, so they should at least install on 64-bit Windows. has anyone tried this?

I would like to offer some advice from my experience with this adapter, I can only cover the gamecube controller support, though.

getting full functionality of the controller into the computer needed just one small change from the default configuration. on the button re-mapping tab, click "Enable Buttons"¹ this enables the buttons that are at the end of the L and R pressure sensitive buttons

¹ this is a strange button. it behaves something like a checkbox or latching switch. default state has the appearance of being pressed in and the words change to reflect what it is about to do should you click it.

holding the start button for 3 seconds changes modes, avoid doing this so that it stays in flight mode
flight mode enables complete use of the controller
digital mode makes the dpad control the x,y digitally, the c-stick control buttons 9-12 (which are otherwise unused) and disables L R pressure sliders.
analog mode makes the dpad control buttons 9-12 instead of the pov hat and leaves the rest like flight mode

I've noticed a problem with the C stick on both of my GCPads. the Y axis sometimes jitters from 0 to -0.17 on one and the other is stuck on -0.17 when left untouched

avoiding the BSOD caused by this driver (forever!)
if you remove the adapter from one usb port and put it into another, windows will reinstall the driver for the new port.
and then when you go into your game controllers settings and open the properties for this adapter, it will pop-up a message saying "This is you first plug the controller, loading the driver now."
don't click OK yet, because it will cause a BSOD. first close the window that has the list of connected game controllers, and then click OK for "This is you first plug the controller, loading the driver now."

repeat this for the other usb ports and you should never get the BSOD again (from this driver)

I just ran a quick test in Dolphin and it works nicely, although I had to set the L and R buttons manually.

For those who are running Windows 7 x64 and have a Magic Joy box 3 in 1 working with a GameCube controller, can you give me a step by step on how to install it properly? Mine does not work at all. However I am using a wireless controller, but I don't see how that should make a difference.

Thanks!

Sorry for bump.

I don't know from personal experience, but I know that others have said that there is not enough power for the wireless reciever to work properly, or something to that effect...

Guys can you tell me if these adaptors are still the best options for connecting the original gamecube adaptor to Dolphin?

I'm using Win 7 64bit and Also occasionally OSX, although I usually boot into windows to game... I want to try and make sure all the buttons etc and rumble if possible work perfectly.

I can pick up the Super Joybox 13 here. http://www.consolesandgadgets.com/catalog/super-joybox-13-for-cube-joypads-p-1572.html

And also the 3 in one magic Joy box from Amazon http://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B0059HNGHI

Your replies are appreciated or any other suggestions. I know I can use a 360 pad or similar but I prefer to use the original pad :-)

Okay, so I dont know where to put this so ill put it here. I am using the GC Controller Adapter for PC by Mayflash. Its not the 3 in 1 joybox or anything. Just the GC connectors only. I have downloaded the drivers and it says its working and everything is minus it ACTUALLY working in a game. What should I do??
