(Gamecube) Control stick is jittery when moving UP

Hello! I'm new to using Dolphin, and I'm having some trouble with my controller.

I use a standard GameCube controller and a MayFlash adapter, and for the most part, everything works great! The buttons function with no delay, and the control stick works perfectly in almost all directions. The only problem is, I get terrible jittering when trying to move the control stick UP.

When moving the control stick UP, it constantly jitters up and down very quickly. As a result, moving forward in any of my games is very slow and choppy. Moving the control stick in any other direction works perfectly and feels very smooth.

I've tried:
• Restarting my computer.
• Unplugging my adapter.
• Changing my monitor refresh rate.
• Changing the port used by my controller.
• Using different controllers. (Even a brand new one!)

I don't know what else to do, so I'm hoping that someone here knows of a solution. Here are some gifs that showcase the problems I've been having:

Have you checked that the controller doesn't have this problem when you use it with something other than Dolphin?

Using the controller on my Wii works fine, so it's definitely a problem with Dolphin or my computer.

Or with the Mayflash adapter. I would suggest trying it out in a different program on your computer so that we can narrow down the issue.

By the way, if you have the kind of Mayflash adapter that can be used on Wii Us, you can use Dolphin's native support for GameCube adapters rather than mapping the PC mode inputs to an emulated GameCube controller. You might be able to bypass the issue in that way.

Using Dolphin's native support doesn't seem to work.  (Yes, I switched my adapter from PC to Wii U.)

Could you give some examples on programs that I can use? Dolphin is the only one that I know of that uses adapters.

When the adapter is in PC mode, it'll work just like any PC controller that uses DInput, so there are many games and emulators that support it. I don't have any specific examples of games, but if you just want a simple program to test it in: Go to Devices and Printers in the Control Panel, right-click on the gamepad (adapter?) and select "Game controller settings", then press "Properties". The "Test" tab in there will show your inputs.

You are right about very few other programs offering native support for GameCube adapters in Wii U mode, though.

I tested my adapter by following your instructions, and I get the same problem there, which means it's definitely my adapter at fault. I've ordered an official Wii U adapter, so hopefully that works better.

I ordered an official Wii U Adapter and it works perfect. It was my MayFlash adapter at fault.
