Having the same problem with a Nyko gamecube adapter. Dolphin detects a adapter, but when I start melee the controller does not work. I also get an error that says " There is a potential problem with your GameCube adapter and inputs are being set to their default position to prevent unintended inputs If you want, you can turn this off in [config] > [Advanced Options] " Turning this off does not fix the problem either.

We do not support the Faster Melee fork here.

Yip. Same problem here. Just night the adaptor and 4 controllers just for this and for now they are useless.

Cheers

There is no switch on the back of my GameCube controller adapter.

I believe the problem exists in all versions of Dolphin, in all the games I tested, and across other generic adapters. My adapter has a black and gray cable, and it does not work with just the black or both plugged in, nor does it change by switching between USB 2.0 and 3.0. I have tried plugging the GameCube controller into every port and switching it in the Dolphin controller settings too.

I also experienced this earlier, although as of posting (and downloading the newest build) I don't see it anymore. I might have changed a setting and not noticed it though, so don't discredit this.

Dolphin detects the controller at first, but then stops/flickers between detecting and not detecting once the game starts. Seems like a problem with Dolphin itself or the hardware that is consistent with generic adapters. I have had no luck at all in fixing this, and I've truly tried everything other than disassembling the whole thing. Thanks for everyone for submitting more information. Sad to hear that nothings worked, but the effort is appreciated. I just gave up after a while of trying. Hopefully the devs look more into this problem.
