GameCube Adapter - Can I configure it?

I'm sorry if this question shows off too much ignorance, but I would like to know if it is possible to configure another controller (such as the Wii's Classic Controller) to use the GameCube controller for inputs (I already have the GameCube Adapter ready and functioning with the emulator)
