I was messing around with the app Game Tuner and lowering the resolution and I have gotten significant speedup after toggling 50% and 60fps, is this a fluke?
Sonic Heroes ran at 45fps and Sunshine (Europe) ran at 25fps when going through the tutorial with drops to 22.

Also, forgot to mention I'm using a Samsung Galaxy S6, 6.0.1, Build 4.0-9075 which fixes texture glitches

Yea, during my tests game tuner proved it gives significant speedup when lowering res to extreme-low. Could be something to do with Mali driver, the way it works with layout. I haven't tried snapdragon variant though

Yea, I'm not as active this time as I'm overseas Tongue I've seen DVFS talks. Share some more details about an easy way to disable it. I know permissions could be disabled by editing dvfs at /properties/permissions using root explorer. I tend to think that's why Golden Star is getting meh results on his S820 S7, I can't see it gets to a complete minimum freq (on his vids with Cpu Float profiler), more like a standard throttling range 1.1-1.6GHz (which shouldn't be an issue on S820 since it's throttling is more like a peak freq on cooled S810) though new Geekbench 4 beta is displaying super weird spec, placing 8890/A72 far ahead and A57 on par with S820 :/ I guess it needs the other thread when bench is released

It's probably because the cpu doesn't have to render as much in screen since the resolution is lower. The DVFS problem gets much worse though for some reason

That's not how rendering works. Most likely Dolphin is failing at the final blit to screen(How I implemented it, it may not be hardware accelerated). Someone would need to look at the code and test changing it.
