I have a game (Mariokart Wii) that I am currently trying to play. When I run it on Windows, the game functions normally, and is reported normally in the Dolphin menu.
Trying to run the game in POP!_OS 21.04, the game is reported as GameCube, and when I start the game, it just opens a window, the contents of which are like a screenshot taken from what was under it. I can move around the window, and the content stays the same. I cannot, however, close the program, and am forced to kill it through commandline.

Any suggestions?

You're using Dolphin 5.0 stable, which is rather old. If you use a newer version you should avoid this problem.

Do I need to build from source to get the latest version? Dolphin's PPA seems to be broken, and the APT manager only gives me dolphin-emu 5.0

How would I go about installing the libraries missing? I seem to be missing a lot of them (X11, EGL, FFmpeg)
Sorry, this is just my first time building a program from scratch in a few years, I'm rusty haha

PopOS is based on Ubuntu, so follow the steps on this page for the Ubuntu build info: https://wiki.dolphin-emu.org/index.php?title=Building_Dolphin_on_Linux

Run the 'sudo apt .....' command to get the missing packages, then run the 'git clone ...' command to pull the source files, then the cmake and make commands to build
