I'm trying to play mario party 5. The sound is terrible and it's like it's in slow motion. Is there anything I can do to fix this. I've only downloaded dolphin yesterday and it was working fine until now

dual boot windows or Linux on your MacBook.

You're either dealing with slow GL drivers or frequency throttling which MacOS is *very* aggressive about.

Before I do this, are there any settings worth changing that could make a difference?

If you don't know what your actual specs are, I can't help you try to optimize dolphin's performance for your PC that much.

You can trade in-game frame rate for audio smoothness by lowering the emulated CPU clock in Options/Configure/Advanced.

Or just use a development build and enable time stretch audio in audio settings

That'll just fix the audio stuttering, not the slowdown.
