game pad joysticks

hi i am trying to get my xbox 360 game pad working and it does but i am not able to setting controls to the triggers and the joysticks (though i really only care about the joysticks) and also i have tried xpadder and it simply does not work it works when im not in dolphin emulator but when i start dolphin emulater it just acts like its not on. Please help!
