I understand you can't simply make codes for both versions of the game just like that, and it is up to you to do it how you want. Still, I have to say I'm with retroben and masterotaku on this one. I consider the GC controller to be one of the best controllers out there, and I also think that the GC version of Twilight Princess is better suited for a 60fps code.

Sad to hear that Twilight Princess for the GameCube won't be supported with the 60 FPS code. I guess I am in the GameCube camp as the gamecube controls are superior. Widescreen is not an issue for the GameCube version since there are AR codes for that (even for 21:9). Yeah... Wii controls miss the second analog stick for camera movement. Besides the Wiimote D-Pad buttons aren't actual item buttons. The B buttons is. Choosing an item bound to the D-Pad only causes it to switch between the B button and the used D-Pad button. I believe the Iron Boots are still directly usable from the D-Pad. But yeah. It is your code, so your choice. So we have to live with that. That doesn't mean through it is a missed opportunity.
I was just now trying to see if I could get lucky with a float point value gravity address in hopes I find one that affects all NPCs including Niko.
The low gravity code doesn't change Link's gravity (even on area changes after a savestate exploit to refresh it) for me,but it changes his bombs while bomb plants are unaffected. So far I haven't found anything near the existing low gravity code address, but I may keep trying to mess around until I can hopefully get lucky. All I need to look for is Niko blasting off or slamming down,I feel that a savestate just outside on the ship is the best waypoint to attempt to find it with, but maybe the global gravity won't need the are switch in order to work effectively. Too exhausted/tired today unfortunately,so I will need to get some extra sleep before I can try more effectively. The downside is that there is an f-ton of float values to mess with, not only the many thousands of 3F800000 values. Edit: Wanna know what's really sad? The Gamecube version could of easily supported widescreen since even a system before it could do it with games like Donkey Kong 64. A wiki page shows many Gamecube games have widescreen support too.

So am I the only person who legitimately loves the Wii version of TP?
...I actually liked the motion controls so much that the lack of Wiimote controls is the reason I didn't buy Twilight Princess HD. 10-23-2016, 11:12 AM

You wanna know what's REALLY sad?! The GameCube version could have easily made Z an item button and moved the button for Midna to one of the D-Pad directions since even a Zelda game on GameCube before it let you use the Z button for item usage. Here's the latest news https://youtu.be/53-Sp7LN6Sw Edit: On a side note, that's my first video uploaded of this game using ShadowPlay. For all the previous ones I was using OBS because it normally works really well if I set it to use Nvidia's h.264 GPU encoder. As you could tell from my previous uploads, it was not working well at all for capturing Dolphin. The reason I hadn't used ShadowPlay before now is because I had to go download and install GeForce Experience (which I generally don't like the interface of). The specific reason I stopped using GeForce Experience was because last time I used it, the ShadowPlay feature was bugged and wouldn't ever work again. The only thing (as far as I know/give a shit about) that has changed about ShadowPlay since then is that they completely revamped the recording system and the way it's accessed, which seems to work perfectly for me. Now I can record you guys some nice 1080p60FPS, 50 Mbps h.264 footage without dropping a single frame in Dolphin or experiencing any type of slowdown. With that being said, whenever I take a break from modding the game, I'll try to go and record something interesting, like completing a temple (with my excessive backtracking and oblivious wandering cut out, of course). Just be aware that if the game softlocks while I'm recording then I have to cancel the whole thing and go back to working on it

I consider it slightly better than the GameCube release, for having a proper 16:9 UI that isn't stretched and for having the D-Pad item switching system (although that's a personal preference I guess; I really enjoy Skyward Sword's single item button control scheme as well). Like all Wii games that are not Metroid Prime Trilogy or Metroid Prime 3 (I don't know how they pulled that off in those games), Twilight Princess on Wii suffers from extremely high-latency and wobbly IR pointer controls. For that reason, I always play with the IR controls disabled. As for the actual "motion controls" for Link's sword: it just checks the magnitude of the accelerometer's acceleration vector and sends the "is currently pressing the B-button" flag for one frame upon crossing a specific threshold. So in the end it just feels silly, doing any sort of waggle motion in order to make Link swing his sword. The only instance of a game's Wiimote controls that I specifically found to be done really well was Skyward Sword, because all the puzzles in the game were designed around the motion controls, rather than being an idea slapped on after production of the game was nearing its end (also because Wii Motion Plus actually detects rotations, which are arguably kind of important for good motion detection). Also, you'd definitely hate Twilight Princess HD's controls: not only are they made for regular controllers, they're also extremely buggy. And yikes. It's kinda sad that fanmade modifications are superior to an official rerelease. (Also, just repeating my earlier question: will the patch work with both versions of TP for wii, or only one of them? I know most action replay codes for TP have V1 and V2 variants for the two versions, but I don't actually know how any of the code-side stuff works) 10-23-2016, 02:20 PM

I guess I'm going to try making it for both since the Wii version offends so many people, but I'll be making the Wii version first since, as I stated before, the memory is less crammed in there, allowing me to use more space to store the injections as well as different values required in those functions. During the recording of my 2 short videos showing GC Twilight Princess running 60 FPS, the game was very unstable and Link was literally the only thing not moving double speed. When I add more fixes it's going to be harder on the GC version. 10-23-2016, 03:19 PM
Sorry for being such a fussy felix, thank you,and good luck!
![]() I was watching a stream a long while back of TPHD in hero mode (also becomes mirrored) and it was physically painful seeing everything to the opposite side of what I am used to,like the shop is to the ea- west we- east, aghhh I dunno! For anyone that doesn't like Skyward Sword,I have got one word to say in response to that. ...Groose

Haha saw the Niko videos, awesome XD
And for Twilight Wii, i had no idea you could actually disable the IR controls, i mean, if you disable them, isn't the game precisely as GC in terms of movement and aiming? Also didn't know there was a bug that could corrupt the entire game on Wii (canon something?) ![]() Well the only thing i dislike about the Wii version is, Mirrored and Cursor. Other than that i can't really say anything, at least it's not like Skyward where you have to break your arm in order to do something;P Quote:For anyone that doesn't like Skyward Sword,I have got one word to say in response to that. Haha, yeah, that was the One best thing in the entire game XD Do whatever mod you prefer, Wii or GC;D |
