Considering how alike the games are; I'd guess that it'd need to be modified for the Wii version, but the same concepts would work.

Probably, but isn't the Wii version much worse, it's mirrored and has huge input lag on the wiimote cursor:S

I always play with the Wiimote cursor disabled. Having 4 item buttons is way better (also the game has a 16:9 interface).

I'm probably going to make it work with only the Wii version.

Yeah I'd literally only have to Ctrl+F search the function names in the Wii version's symbol map and then copy and paste the new addresses into the gecko codes.

Both Wii versions? Since there's a 1.0 and a 1.02. Or only one of them?

How insulting! How would one emulate the Wii version with other non-wiimote control methods without having issues?
I have to not use gamepads for a personal issue,so I am stuck with keyboard input, and Wii controls are a nightmare with it.
Not only that, but it is grossly mirrored as a pain on the eyes for those of us who got the Gamecube version, and also the fact those wii controls will most likely get messed up by the altered timing, and you would have to also spend more time fixing the controls as well.
Not only that, but the need to disable a performance option (Skip EFB Access from CPU) for proper aiming means it will likely be a bit slower (especially on lower clock CPUs) on top of Wii emulation being newer.
Well tbh,I got the Wii version too just so I could get homebrew access early before the Brawl exploit came out.

I may be left handed, but I started out ambidextrous at youth,I can do non-writing activities with either hand as the main one, otherwise I would be highly offended if I was fully left handed with the inability to use right handed stuff.

Also...Smash Bros. with Gamecube controllers 4ever!!!

Edit: Don't forget about the cannon glitch that ruins your save exclusively on the Wii release, forcing you to delete your save if cheats aren't used to allow transforming so you can warp the cannon.

This happened to my mother in the Wii version a year ago (she plays it from time to time from scratch), and it was infuriating. I searched for teleportation codes, walk-through-walls codes... and I found nothing. She played the game again a few months later and finished it.

Gamecube version is the original and best version for me. Left handed Link and free camera controls ftw!. Of course, Meowmaritus, you have the freedom to do what you want.

GameCube controllers are garbage. I always play Wind Waker with my DualShock 4. Since you're so offended I guess I'll have to make the code for the GC version. I mean, you are entitled to the 60 FPS mod, right? How dare I spend 100 hours modding a game that will be slightly inconvenient for you to play!!

OK hear me out: the Wii version might have a little bit more memory space in which I can put some extra data my mod requires. If it makes you nerds happy I can ship the mod with a code that unmirrors the game. As for the IR controls, you can completely disable them in the settings menu in order to use only the left stick to aim. And you get 4 item buttons!

You wanna see bad controls? Play Twilight Princess HD lmao

On behalf of everyone else besides myself, thanks for the code you worked/are working on for Wind Waker.

Not sure if DS4 controllers are compatible with the most computers and if they work well for mapping the more complex wiimote controls.

I love Skyward Sword and have played through it with no major issues, but trying to emulate it may be irritating without the proper input setup, requiring a button to be held in order to "point" at the screen in order to douse, move the beetle, and bowling the bombs, not to mention,a unique button to pass the motion plus syncing phase.
I could barely play through Super Paper Mario again via Dolphin the first time because of the pointing and other precise mechanics used for items.

I didn't HAVE to post my findings earlier (via a frustratingly crash-prone debugger) resulting in darkludx quickly finding his one-lined code for Wind Waker, making me quickly find the TP code location and correct value (000A4CB8) as a result and I didn't have to post those either.
If I didn't even post those first framerate identifier addresses to begin with, none of this 60fps stuff would of progressed nearly as much, and none of it at all for Twilight Princess if Wind Waker didn't get its address found.
We would be stuck with the other code that makes it too fast in an unstable way.

Well,I mentioned several common reasons/issues/glitches of why the Wii version is not well suited for the 60fps code in comparison to the original Gamecube version.
At least one other person would agree with me about preferring the Gamecube original.
I have nothing against the wiimote itself, its just very difficult to get Dolphin set up for it properly in the case of computer compatibility issues and other certain issues,DS4 is sleek, full of features, and excellent in itself (though I don't have one unfortunately),but to each their own.

Wow.

You just insulted pretty much the entire Smash Bros. fandom, you ought to be ashamed of yourself.
Also,Nintendo MADE the Playstation systems exist in the first place! (also the reason of CDi Zelda's existance,LOL)
Besides, the authenticity of using a real Gamecube controller with Dolphin is a nice touch,I briefly had an experience of this with bad performance on a wimpy computer with a now ancient version of Dolphin.

And why does it matter since you can use that DualShock 4 controller to play the Gamecube version more easily anyway?!?
You can play any game with a DDR pad for all I care! Use whatever controller you wanna use and, most importantly, have fun.

Sorry for the ranting portions of this.
