I'm impressed that people are still working on Wind Waker 60 FPS. If you want, I could make some video updates for the Dolphin channel if you wanted showing it off. I don't know what you're plan is; I knwo there can be a danger in "hyping" something before it's done because it may not get finished. Then again, added interest could be a big motivator

Then again, added interest could be a big motivator I'd rather not feel pressured about it because it's only a side project of mine and it's likely going to take a while. 10-16-2016, 06:22 PM

Any Idea why, after putting 817F0000 in the injection offset in CodeWrite, the generated gecko code injected the ASM instructions starting at 0x80028b8? Also all the branches are going the wrong distance away... 10-16-2016, 10:52 PM
That is also considered free memory in all GameCube and Wii games and is where the Gecko Codehandler places all Gecko Codes..

So does it put the new code in some free space, branch to there from the injection offset, execute the new code, then branch back to the instruction immediately after the injection offset? Because, if so, then that's likely why I completely broke everything when gecko-injecting my PPC code that manually does exactly that lol. 10-17-2016, 06:00 AM

I was asking about how it runs ASM located at 0x800028B8 from the injection offset (you know the little box on ASMWiiRd/CodeWrite labeled "Insertion Address") Obviously there's a point to the insertion address. Your vague answers are baffling to me. 10-17-2016, 06:58 AM
It generates a branch opcode to the injection code start and to return back every time the Gecko Codehandler runs.

So wait, are you able to make Link move half as often by only calling the function half as much on 60fps?
As you said it looks weird, i assumed that you have seen it. |
