It has similar problems to 60fps.  Some things are tied to the animation rate, so if you speed it up to 30fps or 60fps crawling breaks, jumps are smaller, boulders roll faster, etc.  So at 30fps the physics things will go 50% faster and at 60fps they'll go 200% faster.

30fps in HD is pretty sweet. Too bad the characters animations are still 20fps.

Yeah, I worked for a while on crafting a code that automatically turns it off while crawling, but the game didn't like the 20->60fps switch while going out of the tunnel.  A code that can be selectively turned off (like the Majora's Mask code) by holding a button would be the easiest hack for now...

This one was not found by me, I got it from here: http://smashboards.com/threads/dolphin-online-melee-netplay.335432/page-3, but interestingly, it doesn't work to make a 75fps or 90fps version. If I divide it by anything lower than 1, it goes to 120fps mode. It must round something somewhere I guess.

Wow, thanks! It works great with the Ishiiruka build, enabling the Double Video Rate Hack in the game configuration. Now I'll play sometimes at 120fps in 2D (mainly for multiplayer) and sometimes at 60fps in 3D (I only have one pair of glasses).

A week ago I tried a custom battle with x0.5 speed and 120fps frame limit with high pitched audio  Tongue .

What Zelda OOT and MM need is codes that disable culling. I see you posted many codes here: http://www.reddit.com/r/DolphinVRcullin/

Thanks for everything you did  Big Grin  (and to the others that made the other codes).

Double posting for important information: the 60FPS Jump Fix codes for Ocarina of Time and Majora's Mask are incorrect. Gravity was too high. Instead of 000000D8, the correct value is 000000DE. I measured the jump distance with screenshots until I got it right. My 30fps codes were correct because I compared the jump distance with the normal game (20fps).

Have anyone tried to patch Arc Rise Fantasia yet?

Arc Rise Fantasia jumps to 60 FPS in menus and in "victory fanfare" (after you win battles)

There are other problems with the 30fps and 60fps hacks:

- The hookshot distance is affected (much shorter reach).
- The Volvagia cutscene gets stuck at the end and never finishes (maybe other cutscenes are affected).
- After killing a boss, when you are teleported to the entrance, Link doesn't reach the ground at 60fps and remains stuck in the air. At 30fps, he reaches the ground, but at a very slow speed.
- Timers.
- Epona is slower at 60fps, I think. It's fine at 30fps. The carrots regenerate faster.
- Faster day cycle.
- Some enemies move faster, and/or their jump abilities are broken (lizalfos that fall into the lava, tektites that do super fast mini jumps, etc).
- The 3 hit sword combo is almost impossible to do, the most at 60fps. Also, you can't charge the spin attack. The uncharged one is also difficult to do.
- Bombs explode much sooner.
- When throwing bombs/rocks/etc, the distance they reach is shorter.
- Link jumps through the fence outside of his house. This is a minor bug.
- Link swims slower at 60fps. I think 30fps is fine.

It's nice for running around for a while, but for serious gameplay it's pretty broken. One good thing is that many of Link's animations have more animation frames than 20fps, so the 30fps code benefits from this.

About that hookshot bug, there is a counter-bug. A 15fps patch. For OOT: 00C8D2C1 00000004. I simply changed the 00000001 (60fps) or 00000002 (30fps) for a 00000004.
With that code, you can reach the previous room to the boss in the water temple with the short hookshot. You'd need the boss key, anyway.

Hello Guys,

can me somebody tell how to use the 60/30 FPS patch for the Zelda Collection ( Ocarina of Time / Majors Mask)? Or better make a easy to do list?

My English is very bad, and i dont unterstand it what to do with:

Hi,

First, I'm french, so if I make some mistake, feel free to tell me Smile
I have read the full topic, but I can't found an answer to my question.

Simple question : Is it possible to increase FPS of the game without increase the game speed?

I have try all the code/patch, but nothin work, at this time I have always a really fast game when I activate a code.

So, if you can bring me some help, I will be happy.
