Yes, with my i7-2670QM i'm able to play most of my games at fullspeed. And with the GeFore GT 540M, i can play all my games at 720p 
But the heavy games like SMG/SMG2 are running at 80-90% speed. (I use ICC builds of Dolphin)
Conclusion: i7-2670QM + GeForce GT 540M is a decent setup
