But still more expensive than G3258... http://www.cpu-world.com/Compare/251/AMD_FX-Series_FX-4350_vs_Intel_Pentium_Dual-Core_G3258.html

EDIT: FYI, 70 USD = 181 BRL (G3258); 115 USD = almost 300 BRL (FX 4350); 122 USD = 316 BRL (FX 6300). https://es.finance.yahoo.com/divisas/conversor/#from=BRL;to=USD;
The price of the last two were taken from Amazon, the price of the Pentium was taken from Newegg.

I have a FX 6100 and I can play Project M (brawl mod) with 4 players while recording with fraps and still get a constant 60 fps. Here's a video I recorded: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_RlNxLZze-M

We know AMD isn't especially well suited for Dolphin because all of our benchmarks indicate this. What takes an Intel Haswell CPU around 3GHz to do in Dolphin takes a comparable AMD CPU around 4GHz to do. Simply because you can run your games at an acceptable speed doesn't mean that your case is applicable to every other situation. AMD is not incapable of running Dolphin, but it's objectively inferior in comparison to Intel's current products. Keep in mind what you're doing isn't very demanding; SSBB/Project M is "lightweight" by Dolphin standards, and recording all of that will use a couple of additional cores, but it's far from pushing Dolphin. More demanding games (4-player MKWii for example) will put a strain on systems, in which case Intel's advantage becomes more apparent.

AMD's CPUs definitely can be sufficient or adequate to run Dolphin, but when Intel offers significantly better performance at comparable price points, I think that's when others start to deem AMD as a sub-par choice for Dolphin.

AMD not bad runs dolphin, the FX 43** FX63** runs most games well, with a few exceptions...

recommend looking at what games you plan to play, FX 6300 will have better performance in video editing and Pc games.

It's not that it's bad for Dolphin, it's just that there are way better choices from Intel, as seen in our benchmark https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/lv?key=0AunYlOAfGABxdFQ0UzJyTFAxbzZhYWtGcGwySlRFa1E#gid=0

It's a dual core but it run faster than any AMD Quad Core atm
Here is multi-threaded benchmark of OCed G3258
OCed G3258 is on par with 6 cores FX 6100

hmmm fx6300, its not that bad....

i did some screenshots of 2 of most demanding games: SMG 2 and twilight princess with 100% hyrule field.

check it out:
[Image: screen182326_thumb.jpg]  [Image: screen2cb8be_thumb.jpg]  [Image: screen3aec09_thumb.jpg]  [Image: screen4e281c_thumb.jpg]

you can easy hit 4,4 ghz with that cpu by just changing multi to 22. like i did. i ran this cpu at 4,9 for a year, at least i never needed that much. so i clocked it down again.
most pc games, like Watch Dogs, Evil Within, Call of Duty Advanced Warfare, Crysis 3 run smooth and fast on that CPU too with Ultra settings without bottlenecking my GPU.

its not so bad as much people say, maybe it is not as good as an i5 when it comes to dolphin, but it WILL run most WII games smooth and with more than playable speeds if you overclock it. and thats really simple with fx series CPU.

edit#1:

here's a screen of my cpu and vcore. as you can see i am nearly running with stock vcore.

edit#2:

i did another benchmark test from this thread (with the revision mentioned in thread): https://forums.dolphin-emu.org/Thread-new-dolphin-cpu-benchmark-no-game-required

and here is the result:

8min and 36 seconds with fx 6300 @ 4,4 ghz. i think its not so bad at all. you can compare here: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/lv?key=0AunYlOAfGABxdFQ0UzJyTFAxbzZhYWtGcGwySlRFa1E#gid=0
maybe i push my cpu to 4.9 ghz, and try this test again... bet that will give me some extra seconds around 25-35

FX 8350 @ 5ghz in test with 10 min and 43 seconds... i think his bios is wrong configged...

anyway: if you want to build a pc for dolphin, the G3258 is a must for you, it will match i7 speeds in dolphin.

What? Now AMD processors when over clocked are hitting Haswell speeds. Well no one can call them bad without calling haswell bad. Just sub optimal at the most.
