Fullscreen Resolution on a CRT

Hi everyone,

Per the changes initially made in version 5.0-5833, as indicated here: https://dolphin-emu.org/download/dev/d800b0f79868a28356b4e40cb9b2e5af43977042/ , I can no longer change the fullscreen resolution - instead I can only alter the internal rendering resolution.

Fullscreen resolution is important in my usage scenario because I am displaying Dolphin onto a VGA CRT monitor, to which I've added several modelines using CRU (Custom Resolution Utility); in versions prior to 5833, by setting the Dolphin graphics settings' fullscreen resolution to 640x480 and by toggling Dolphin to go from windowed to fullscreen mode, the CRT would then automatically switch resolutions from 1290x960@75 (my desktop) to 640x480@60 (my target). Going back to windowed mode would automatically switch the display resolution back to 1280x960 - I never have to fiddle with Windows' desktop resolution settings myself.

After version 5833 however, Dolphin no longer switches resolutions when going from windowed to fullscreen, so instead everything is always displayed at 1280@960.

Is there a way to restore the old fullscreen resolution settings functionality?

You could always just, run Dolphin at 2x native with your CRT at 1280x960; your GPU can handle that with room to spare and everything would look nicer than on console. Or you could just run Dolphin in 1x native and keep the CRT at 1280x960 mode and let Dolphin handle the scaling, since it is an integer increase there would be no scaling problems at all. Both of those options are available to you and they'd look great, just saying.

Anyway, if you still want to switch your display to 640x480 whenever Dolphin is run, the functionality is still there in the INIs, as was mentioned in the Progress Report.

It is not exposed in the UI anymore, but there is a .ini option that allows you to do exactly that. I just can't find it :S
