Like the subject says, when I run a game (any game) in full screen, it will freeze the current image on screen after ~3 seconds. The game is still being emulated behind the frozen image (I can hear the music, feel vibration in controller, etc.) but the image is stuck. This usually equates to freezing on the white wrist strap safety screen from game boot, as I start all games in full screen. That said, games continue to play fine once switched to a window, but the moment I go exclusive full screen, it will freeze whatever the current image is after ~3 seconds, with the game still running in the background (Hope that makes sense).
Things I tried:
- DX12: full screen 3 second freeze
- Vulcan: full screen 3 second freeze
- DX11: white screen no image on full screen
- OpenGL: Works in Full screen
Confession: Everything was working fine until I updated my drivers to the latest AMD Adrenalin 2020 driver (19.12.2). This driver is a major overhaul of the previous drivers, and probably has introduced some compatibility issues....But I REALLY like the new driver interface and feature set. I'm no programmer or anything but I'm guessing this is some kind of buffer/sync issue, as I'm getting the fullscreen rendered frames for about 3 seconds then I'm stuck with the last image from the buffer(?). Anyway just was looking to see if anyone else had this issue and a heads up to the dev team.
