Considering the minimum amount to fund your Steam wallet is $5, I've spent $150 just to upgrade all accounts. Done right it could be profitable and I am not referring to the greedy trader mentality. Those with 100+ accounts drop around 2 - 3 salvaged crates weekly or bi-weekly which can be sold on the marketplace for $13 - $15 a pop, then there are weapons that can be crafted into metal and traded for keys and backpack expanders that can be sold for $1.80+ per key or $4+ for expanders.
With the money I could manage to snag games cheap when on sale then sell for a small profit after the sale is over. Trading games/items for Paypal money would work but it's just dealing with scammers that deters me from going that route. Plus everyone is going to want you (me) to have some kind of rep else they won't go first which puts me at risk of being scammed. I honestly don't think I will bother with any more than 30 accounts for a while just because it's a pain to idle them not to mention taking away resources if I want to play another game, that is where having a spare box would be nice though. Even nicer if there was some script to auto-start idle accounts, run for ten hours and auto-shutdown and start the next batch.
