Quote:As far as I know this is supposed to be a fun game to play and not about idling around and turning the game into a small Steam business. At this point I think it's like, you need to find something else to do with yourself.
Spending time and mental energy to get money is always a constructive use of time.
Quote:Obviously you're free to completely disregard what I just said, but it seems detrimental to the game if at some point all the game ends up being is players waiting around for game items so that they can gather them all up and make a profit. Granted it's nice to get free stuff, but all you end up doing is whoring out the game and kinda destroying it.
Most players aren't going to bother investing all the time and research needed to set this kind of thing up. I sure as hell don't care enough to do it. Not to mention it requires financial investment to set up alt accounts (you need to pay to upgrade them to premium status before you can trade their items to your main account). This limits the number of players who do it.
This "whoring" as you call it has created a strong in-game economy that has kept the game going and increased the number of active players.
It's like having a second job (or third in some people's case). But it's not for everyone.

Couldn't you just buy steam games with the money then sell the games?
