Hey.

Does anyone know why frameskip doesn't work on the current dolphin android builds? I tried to set it in the .ini file, but it just disables it when I run a game.

Is this a hardware limitation?

I think frameskip would greatly increase the playability of most games.

Thanks!

Frameskip doesn't really work in Dolphin in general, not just Android.

It's been a feature that's been more or less broken since implementation and nobody's really cared about the feature enough to make it work, regardless of making it more "playable" on awful systems. It's also broken sorta because of how Dolphin works, and making it work is a massive pain that nobody wants to deal with.

I remember it working somewhere around 4.0.2 and the early dev builds.  Wind waker capped correctly to 15fps

It works on and off with games. Some games it will work as expected. Some it will work but just cause a lot of blank rendered frames. Some it would just do nothing.

The effect you're trying to get is basically the same as if you turn down the value for the "Emulated CPU Clock Override" setting. Most games will have problems if you do this, though.

most games are limited to 30fps anyway, when you use frameskip you'd stick to 15fps or even worse. who would still play it like that?
