I've been using Dolphin 3.0 only and haven't messed with the settings in a long time so this problem I'm suddenly having is weird.

If I turn off audio throttle and set frame limit to either auto or 60 games will work fine otherwise but roughly every 10 seconds or so things will move way too fast for a couple of seconds even though the emulator states that it's running at 100% and 60VPS at all times. Playing the games is obviously not easy with the turbo boosts

If I turn on audio throttle and set frame limit to OFF then everything works fine with most games but ever since I started using dolphin there have been some games that run a bit smoother without audio throttle so that is a problem for me.

If anyone has any kind of idea what might be causing it I'd be happy to know.

Which audio frontend are you using (HLE/LLE recompiler)?

Both depending on the game but LLE more often; the problem occurs with either one. Also I tried switching the graphics backend as well but it didn't make any difference.
This just in: If I disable v-sync instead of turbo moments I get moments of choppiness. Speed still at constant 100%.

Yup that would do it. Mystery solved.
