Hey, i wanted to ask some things about current revisions of Dolphin. It seems some games have some weird issues with the auto framelimit set to on. It doesn't always seem to go at the max speed it does. Let me cite a game here-
Wario World Gamecube. The fixed framerate for the NTSC should be 60fps. I can EASILY get far above that when i don't limit the speed. So i am 100% sure that it has absolutely nothing to do with my PC being too slow. But for some weird reason, setting the auto limit slows the game down to about 30 frames per second when in game. Non-3D parts run at 60fps, but when there is any sort of 3D geometry, the framerate slows to 30FPS. It goes about half speed, even though the VPS is reporting that at 60 and the music still sounds like it's going fullspeed. It sounds like some kind of weird timing issue. Even when i manually limit the speed to 60FPS, it still goes too slow. I have to put it up to something near 100fps in the limit to get the full speed. It's bizarre.
So i think it has something to do with limiting or timing or something. Is this a known issue? I seem to have that issue in most recent revisions, i can't think of any that i tried that didn't (maybe over a thousand or so ago). Mario Sunshine also has the issue. It is supposed to run at 30FPS normally, and i can again get more than fullspeed when i set limiting off. But when i set it to auto or limit to 30, it goes about 20-25fps normally. Music always fullspeed again, it just slows down (abnormally). Newer revisions seem to be fixing it though, i can get closer to 28 or 30 fps now. Still slows down some though.
I'm currently using the 64bit REV 5448. This issue has been occurring for a long time now. I'm sure it's not anything to do with my PC as it's only the frame limit that seems to screw up, turning that off turns the speed up immensely. Also seems to only happen with Gamecube games (some Wii games are slow, but it IS my PC's fault there). So it's a mystery to me. Any thoughts? Specs in sig btw.
Plugins i use-
Direct3D9
HLE sound plugin (LLE is too slow and glitchy for now)
newest gamecube/wii pad plugins (no issues there anyways)
I've tried a combination of any settings in any plugin or options, it's only the framelimiter that slows things down. I usually have Copy EFB to texture unless RAM is needed. XFB being on or off makes no difference. Option screenshots-
